Voyager is a fully automated onboard chart management system that provides the mariner with a personalized database of charts, publications and Notices to Mariners (NTM’s) organized in a convenient folio system.
The Voyager service provides weekly updates to the ships index and Notices to Mariners and Tracings via internet or E-mail communication. The voyager Data Server compresses the data before sending it to the user to reduce the file sizes to a minimum. The Ship only receives Tracings relevant to its chart outfit, further reducing the file sizes.
The Voyager data base is designed to work in a disconnected environment, which means that the data required by the mariner is stored locally. The locally stored data can be periodically updated from the dedicated Voyager Web Server via internet or email communication.
The PTGNS Voyager service has been fully tested and approved by the UK MCA, Greek Flag and Admiralty UKHO. We have also gained approvals from various other flag states and we are on a mission to obtain as many approvals as possible in order to assist our clients with the transition from the original paper Notices to Mariners.
